Closed Doors
You gave me a closed door For years I could not open Locked from within Yet the key long lost Broken and run down I fell upon the floor Years of tears filled My swollen desperate eyes Comfort was long yearned To take the pain away I’d try the door occasionally Only let down furthermore Light would shine slowly Underneath the wooden mask Hopes and dreams of afterlife Crossed thy forbidden soul I long to be comforted From years of fallen grace To fill my mind with spirit Seem so far from realty Until one day A crease within the hatch Appeared a golden key Banished no longer from past © CMWilmes 11/24/19
